HITTIN’ IT BIG! (AT SEA)

Written by Lily Hensby & Lotte Beckett

Would you trust two disgraced Broadway stars to solve a murder? And on a Disney Cruise Ship no less?

Ever since they were mysteriously banished from Broadway, Janine Montgomery and Bernadette Davis have been producing smash-hit musicals on a Disney Cruise Ship. While holding auditions to find the perfect Mickey Mouse, they are told that just last night, a MURDER has been committed on the ship. A body has been found stuffed in a Goofy costume and hidden in the gift shop! Eager to be the stars of the show, Janine and Bernadette take the lead on the investigation and discover how treacherous, (and theatrical), life at sea can be.

Lily Hensby and Lotte Beckett are actors, writers, comedians and theatre-makers. They joined forces in 2022, debuting Hensby's play ‘Last Time’ at Sydney and Melbourne Fringe Festivals, where they were nominated for Best in Theatre. In 2023 they made their comedy debut in ‘We're New Here’ at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and re-staged Last Time at the Motley Bauhaus to rave reviews. They then performed their Harry Styles-centric extravaganza, ‘A Fine Line’ at Melbourne Fringe 2023. They have performed sets at Limbo Comedy, Corner Shop Comedy, Melbourne International Comedy Festival: Festival Club ‘So You Think You’re Someone Else?’, The Improv Conspiracy, Crush Nights, Laugh Cry and Good Girls Comedy. In 2024, they moved back to NSW, were longlisted for The Martin-Lysicrates Prize and shortlisted for the Katie Lees Fellowship. Hensby & Beckett write shows that start off hilarious and end in devastation - theatre with heart, humour and bruising reality.
