Amber is determined to live out the Rom Com of her dreams … but fate has other ideas.
Meet Amber. She’s a Richard Curtis Rom-Com fanatic and has been praying for God to send her the man of her dreams ever since she was fifteen. When she’s first kissed and half-fingered by the coolest boy in school at the back of Edgecliff Centre, she’s pretty sure her love story is on track to be the greatest of all time.
Except it isn’t. When Amber finally finds her dream guy, fate deals her love story an unexpected twist, leaving her heartbroken and questioning everything she once knew to be true. But with the help of some unlikely heroes, a bit of soul-searching and even the odd miracle, she slowly pieces herself back together.
Winner of the Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission (2021), AMBER derails romantic comedies from the Brat-Pack era to the noughties and rebuilds a new kind of Rom-Com fit for our times.
